The Northern Vegetarian Society (NVS) is located in the Greater Sudbury area of beautiful northeastern Ontario, Canada.
The NVS was founded in May 1994. Its purpose is to help the people of the area adopt and maintain a healthy plant-based lifestyle. It’s run completely by volunteers.
We organize vegetarian potlucks and social activities throughout the year, and offer vegetarian cooking classes twice annually.
The NVS is a member of the International Vegetarian Union. We define vegetarianism as the practice of not eating meat, poultry or fish or their by-products, with or without the use of eggs or dairy products.
